- Consultations that feel unrushed and accommodating: patience with a large dog and an owner with disabilities; others say issues are listened to and they felt reassured. - Trust and perceived fairness of treatment plans/costs (mixed): one long-term client says they don’t feel “charged unnecessarily,” while another reviewer objects strongly to £50 for a 15‑minute consultation. - Procedure care mentioned: a dog’s dental operation is described as well managed across the full process (before/during/after).

The veterinarian was very patient with and my dog (a large German Shepherd) and with me and my disabilities. In short a good consultation and would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Heartbrokenly I found my cat deceased on the 25th November 2025. I took her to Hungerford vets to arrange for her cremation. Being extremely upset at the time myself and my partner couldn't decide what we wanted, scatter tube etc. On our return home we decided on a box and phoned the vets with our request and paid for the service about an hour later. I called again on the 10th Dec 2025 to enquire when ashes would be ready for collection and was told probably the following week.I had no contact from vets so called again on 18th Dec to be told there was a delay but my cat hadn't been lost. I asked what sort of delay and was told there had been an administrative error and my cat was still at the vets. My requests for the cremation had not been passed on. I was called today 29th Dec 2025 to say her ashes were ready for collection. I've collected her now and throughout the whole process nobody has apologised. Even when I collected her no one apologised for the mess up. I was given a refund of half the cost but someone from the practice coming to me just to say sorry would have been appreciated. I have always had a good service but this time it was very poor and as bad as it is to lose a beloved pet the whole situation has made it even worse.

Staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Never do I feel like I have been charged unnecessarily. I wouldn’t trust my animals with anyone else. Been coming to this practice with my animals for 46 years!

I always want the best treatment for my dog and I have found on a number of occasions that The Veterinary Hospital has overwhelmed me with its high standard of care. I would certainly recommend this veterinary practice with no hesitation.

Always made to feel welcome and issues listened to. The service we have received has been excellent all round, every time. Highly recommended

The environment is extremely good, as was the welcome. The vet we saw was clearly competent and had uptodate notes for our pet. However, £50 for a 15 minutes consultation is extortionate.

Excellent service. We are not local and our dog injured himself when we were visiting family in the area. Explained our situation, as we were carrying on for a holiday in the west country and we were seen and offered Excellent advice, support and medication.

The veterinary team who looked after Lord Chudley (collie dog) before, during and after his dental operation were professional, kind and caring. I am very pleased that he was so well looked after and he is now recovering happily. Thank-you David.
