#5 Vet in Maidenhead, Berkshire
Summerleaze Veterinary Hospital, located in Maidenhead, operates as both an emergency veterinary service provider and a veterinary nurse training facility, offering 24/7 care for pets in need. The clinic is affiliated with MiNightVet Maidenhead, reflecting its focus on emergency and out-of-hours services.
While the clinic has a Google Maps rating of 4 stars based on 4 reviews, the feedback from individual reviewers offers a more nuanced picture. Positive reviews highlight the clinic's dedicated and compassionate staff, with Bev Bryan praising the exceptional care her puppy received, emphasizing the staff's effective communication and surgical expertise. Another reviewer, Eleanor Halford, appreciated the clinic's responsiveness in providing care for an injured rabbit found on the road.
However, not all experiences have been positive. A significant negative review by Candice Huang criticizes the clinic's handling of her rabbit's treatment, citing inappropriate care due to a lack of expertise in treating small animals like rabbits. This review raises concerns about the clinic's competency in handling exotic pets, suggesting a need for specialized expertise in certain cases.
Despite this, the overall sentiment from multiple reviews leans towards a positive assessment of the clinic's services, particularly in emergency situations. The inclusion of veterinary nurse training indicates a commitment to high standards of care and education within the facility. While the clinic's average rating and reviews suggest generally reliable service, prospective clients with exotic pets may want to inquire further about specialized care before visiting.

If it wasn't for the care and understanding of the totally amazing staff, at Summerleaze, my 11 month old pup wouldn't be here now, they didn't only take great care of kobe they put me at ease also, calling me often with his progress, we couldn't have wished for anyone better to do his surgery and to care for him, he was even very excited to come back and have his stitches out and pleased to see the staff again. The reception team are so nice, it was a pleasure to meet everyone. Thank you again you are all amazing.

Happy to take care of a rabbit that was found in the road and relive it from its suffering

If you have a small animal like rabbits, then avoid this emergency vet at any cost. Our rabbit was given inappropriate treatment by a vet who claimed in front of us that she is not an exotic expert and never treated rabbit before. This is on the basis of we've told them our case is for a rabbit and the details of the situation before we arrived. After we questioned her competency, she insisted to treat our rabbit. She even doesn't know what is sore hocks for rabbits and googled the term while talking to us. Sore hocks is one of the most common conditions for house rabbits. We went to another vet which is experienced in rabbits the following day. They have validated that her treatment was inappropriate to our rabbit. The dose of the meds was wrong. Now our rabbit have developed a long term condition because of what she did. I have sent MiNight Vet a complaint letter.
